​Wellness Philosophy for Support Workers

This workshop promotes the Wellness Philosophy which underpins Commonwealth funded aged care services and complements service models including consumer directed care, reablement, the Eden Alternative and Montessori. 

This practical workshop has been designed for support workers to build on their understanding and skills in the Wellness Philosophy in providing person-centred services. Information on client rights, choice, control and flexibility will be provided and discussed helping support workers to be more effective when assisting clients and carers to progress their goals. ​

Stand by Me: Understanding the Aged Care Quality Standards

Support for people to better understand the Aged Care Quality Standards and how they contribute to them!

For the first time, the client's voice is strong and central to the Aged Care Quality Standards and Charter of Aged Care Rights. This focused and practical 2.5hr workshop has been designed for all people working in aged care for approved providers.  This includes owners and board members, managers, clerical and client direct staff and volunteers. This workshop will help organisations to build workforce skills, knowledge and capacity in achieving safe and quality care and services aligned to the Standards.

This practical workshop has been designed for people working in community and social services to build on their skills and knowledge in diversity and inclusion. The workshop focuses on client's needs and rights to have their individual identity, culture and diversity acknowledged and respected. The workshop focuses on upskilling participants to better understand the Australian aged care sector, the impact of changing demographics and how to provide care and services that partner with clients to progress their goals within a responsive, supportive and seamless sector.

Does it sometimes feel like a mammoth task to do what is morally right for clients and families while still maintaining your obligations to all other stakeholders?  This interactive and challenging one-day workshop will provide you and your staff with the knowledge and skills to deal with the often complex ethical problems and dilemmas faced in daily contemporary practice.


7. Wellness Philosophy for Support Workers
This practical workshop has been designed for support workers to build on their understanding and skills in the Wellness Philosophy in providing person-centred services. Information on client rights, choice, control and flexibility will be provided and discussed helping support workers to be more effective when assisting clients and carers to progress their goals. This workshop promotes the Wellness Philosophy which underpins Commonwealth funded aged care services and complements service models including consumer directed care, reablement, the Eden Alternative and Montessori philosophies. This training is compatible for support workers and carers working with clients in the mental health and disability sectors. Wellness Philosophy training for managers and coordinators is also available.

8. Consumer Direction Enabling Consumer Choice (for Managers)
Are clients better off with 50% of what they want or 100% of what they need?
This workshop provides theoretical and practical, informative tips and tools to enable Managers, Team Leaders and Coordinators to introduce and promote consumer directed care to staff, volunteers, clients, carers and community within a business excellence framework. Topics covered include but are not limited to what is client focused consumer care, why introduce this methodology, CDC principles and key elements, risk enablement and risk management. The workshop is interactive with learning drawn from personal reflection, peer to peer discussions and facilitator engagement.



9. Managing the My in My Care (for staff and volunteers)
The introduction of consumer directed care (CDC) into Australian aged care services will drive a change in the mix of skills, knowledge and attributes required by an organisation's workforce. This workshop has been designed to empower staff and volunteers to work confidently and innovatively with clients and carers in a consumer directed care model. In a safe, supportive and fun environment participants will explore enabling individual choice, flexibility, opportunity and decision making; ethical dilemmas, negotiation skills; and motivating and encouraging clients to name just a few topics.


10. Unwrapping Aged Care Packages
Many community service businesses are considering whether to become Commonwealth approved aged care providers or have recently done so. This workshop supports managers to explore where, how and why they should expand their service delivery enabling local people to have greater choice to age in place while contributing to organisational growth and sustainability. This workshop is highly interactive exploring local demographics, market differential and market entry. For busy managers, this workshop can be delivered in a 4 hour time slot, in modules,  and at a time and place convenient to you. Full day sessions are also available.

11. Ageing, Wellness and Stereotypes
Older people want to stay active, healthy and connected to people and places important to them. This interactive and experiential workshop explores older people's wants and needs, the stereotypes which exist and those we inadvertently harbour which impact on their needs and wants. Participants explore how stereotypes impact on older people and what we can all do to be catalysts for positive change. This workshop is available in a variety of formats including information sessions, half day and full day workshop and can be adapted across industries to meet your needs.
